Jersey Shore Suggestions

The Jersey Shore needs to shake it up. The funny things about the show are being curbed because everyone on there is super rich and famous. It has removed the stakes. Why does Mike "The Situation" give a crap if he gets bitched out by his boss at the T-Shirt shop? He drives a Ferrari...what does he care about T-Shirts?

In short, they need to evolve the cast.

Up All Night (NBC)

Christina Applegate and Will Arnett star as new parents, trying to figure out how to raise a child, while still holding on to what youth they have left. The result: With a little room to grow, I see something worth watching. This show isn't firing on all cylinders yet. It does a lot of things right, but still has areas that need to gel. I've seen this before in shows like 30 Rock and Community, where you have characters with different levels of believability and quirkiness that need to get ironed out. I hope they get it.

Whitney (NBC)

I don't know if it's fair to judge a show after only one viewing, but since I'm not likely to ever watch it again, I suppose I'll have to.

Whitney sucks. Bad.

Thor (2011)

Of all of the Marvel properties, Thor is the one that I was most concerned about coming to the big screen. Not only am I less attached the character than the other Avengers, Thor is seemingly difficult to ground in reality. Where Hulk, Iron Man, and Spider-Man are fantastical characters, at least they live in some version of the real world. However, with Thor, there’s no hiding from for how comic-booky it is. The character lives in another realm draped in Norse mythology, and this film takes this stuff head on.

Sucker Punch (2011)

Let’s say you took a roomful of the biggest geeks you could find and asked them to describe the coolest thing they could think off. You’d get ideas of steam-punk inspired, World War fighting Zombies, mechs and machine guns, Shogun warriors, sword-wielding robots, dragons and Orcs – all mixing it up with bad-ass, scantily clad chicks. And you’d also have the intense, over-stylized action scenes from Sucker Punch.
