Red Dead Redemption (XBOX 360)

Rockstar Games is known for its Grand Theft Auto series. Red Dead Redemption is the studio’s revisiting their old-West franchise, using the same style and engine that it used for GTA4. You might’ve heard this called “Grand Theft Horse”. It’s pretty accurate. However, despite taking every page of the GTA playbook, I think that Red Dead Redemption is actually a better game.

Limbo (XBLM)

Limbo is special. This puzzle-platformer takes you on a black and white, extremely stylistic journey of a young boy in a strange land. On the way, death lurks at every turn, and you'll have to think outside of the box to traverse your environment. There is no narrative. There are no instructions. Like Braid before it, Limbo teaches you as you play, letting you learn from your mistakes. And while you'll get caught up a few times with brain twisters on the way, each step is very rewarding.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (XBOX 360)

Having heard mixed reviews, from “okay” to “amazing”, and being that I’m a nerd for Star Wars, I had to pick this game up eventually. The verdict is in: The Force Unleashed is an average action game with mediocre controls, but one with impressive visuals that makes excellent use of the Star Wars license.

Mass Effect 2 (XBOX 360)

I’m glad that I just recently finished the first Mass Effect, because had I not, I might not realize how much better Mass Effect 2 is in just about every imaginable game. It’s as if they took my review of the last game point by point and fixed every little thing.
