Rockstar Games is known for its Grand Theft Auto series. Red Dead Redemption is the studio’s revisiting their old-West franchise, using the same style and engine that it used for GTA4. You might’ve heard this called “Grand Theft Horse”. It’s pretty accurate. However, despite taking every page of the GTA playbook, I think that Red Dead Redemption is actually a better game.

iPhone gaming has really thrown a wrench into the traditional pay for play model. For 99 cents, what bad can you really say about a game? I guess it’s more about time. Can you play a game and have it be fun, instead of just busy time?

Limbo is special. This puzzle-platformer takes you on a black and white, extremely stylistic journey of a young boy in a strange land. On the way, death lurks at every turn, and you'll have to think outside of the box to traverse your environment. There is no narrative. There are no instructions. Like Braid before it, Limbo teaches you as you play, letting you learn from your mistakes. And while you'll get caught up a few times with brain twisters on the way, each step is very rewarding.

Here I am, a full month out from E3 and only now getting the motivation to write up my thoughts of the Sony Press Conference. Part of that is laziness, but a bigger part of that is a lack of interest in where Sony seems to be taking the PS3. The show had a few interesting things, but most of the focus was put on either 3D technology (on a TV with glasses) or with motion control. I just don’t care about either, at all, so even though I appreciate the advancement in tech, I have no intention of ever using it.

I don’t use my Wii very often at all. It’s been collecting dust for about a year, because I don’t care for mini-games or non-games and I have no interest in playing anything in standard def with a Wiimote than I can play in HD with a controller on my XBOX 360 or PS3. Even games that I want to play, like Punch Out, I don’t feel are worth the full price. So it was strange that of all three press conferences, I think that Nintendo was the most impressive, and much of that was due to exciting games on the Wii. Add in a new handheld launch and it sealed the deal.
